SOMERTON, Ariz. – Winning any one of the six main events during the Winter Nationals presented by Yuma Insurance at Cocopah Speedway will pay an IMCA Modified driver $1,000.
They’ll make more – a lot more – with four wins, five wins or a sweep of Jan. 9-18, 2020 features at Somerton.
Winning all six features will be worth $25,000 in bonus money, with $15,000 paid to win five nights and $5,000 paid to win four times over the course of Winter Nationals.
Modified features Thursday, Jan. 9, Friday, Jan. 10, Saturday, Jan. 11, Thursday, Jan. 16, Friday, Jan. 17 and Saturday, Jan. 18 are Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifiers and pay a minimum of $100 to start.
Also on the card each night are IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods, both racing for $500 to win and $50 to start, and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, for $350 to win and $35 to start.
IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regionals at E3 Spark Plugs State points will be awarded each night. Practice sessions and Dirt Dominators are on tap Wednesday, Jan. 8 and Tuesday, Jan. 15.
There are no entry fees and champions will be crowned in each division. Entries can be made online at www.winternationals.live.
Pit gates open at 2 p.m., the grandstand opens at 4 p.m., hot laps are at 6 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. each night. Spectator admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and military and free for kids ages 12 and under. Pit passes are $35.
Free camping is available at the track.
