Officials of the Bristol Dirt Nationals have enlisted the services of veteran race official Kelley Carlton and his KELCAR Motorsports Team to provide technical oversight for the entirety of the March 15-20, 2021 Bristol Dirt Nationals. Carlton and his team bring many years of officiating experience in major multi-division racing events such as the Gateway Dirt Nationals, the Wild West Shootout and the Winter Freeze.
“We appreciate the opportunity to be a part of this historic event. This event gives a lot of grassroots racers the opportunity to live a dream. And who would not want to be a part of that? I am extremely fortunate to be surrounded by a team of talented officials with many years of experience. I have guys that are certified Crate engine guys as well as some that specialize in Modifieds and Compacts. We have managed several different divisions over the last 23 years. We are already working on our action plan and preparing for the challenge of taking care of that many cars. We are really looking forward to meeting new racers as well as seeing many that we have known for many years. It is our full intention to give these racers a safe and fair event.” said Carlton.
Carlton, who was formerly the General Manager of the Southern All Stars Series, is accustomed to wearing many different hats in motorsports. He is the series director of the ULTIMATE SE Super Late Model Series and owns the Sport Compact Dirt Racing Association (SCDRA). Carlton also heads the all-new 602 Bandit Series and serves as the Events Coordinator at Screven Motor Speedway. Carlton’s company previously officiated Talladega Short Track’s Ice Bowl and Green Valley Speedway’s Bama Bash among others.
KELCAR will oversee all the rules, technical, and safety aspects of the Bristol Dirt Nationals. A Competitor Guide will be released at a later time with comprehensive rules and safety regulations for the event. A guideline for event rules has been posted at: https://racexr.com/events/bristoldirt/
